view galleriesIt took a while for me to hear a friend tell the tale of how their simple holiday break turned into a tiresome, repetition of checking timetables for flights, repetition of the unknown, repetition of the day spent in infuriating tedium. A groundhog day of isolation in a hotel room in which the attractions: the pool, the sea, the restaurant, are all out of bounds.
But at the time it was just a thought of how kind it was that our benevolent government would charter innumerable flights to bring Britons home.
