Metaphoric table
Here, seated at this metaphoric table I can choose to be in the present, in the moment, or I can create barriers and games to live in the future or the past, I can plan and scheme to produce a future feast or ignore and deny to reminisce a past pastime. These may be good solutions: reminiscence may keep up my spirits if my table is bare; scheming may protect me if I am seated with a monster; but I must not be distracted if I am faced with a square meal. I must remember to examine my metaphoric table before choosing to be in the present, the past or the future.
